I miss wild swing of great showmanship despite lack of substance.Too long are movies like this not rewarded in the cinema community. In many ways I’m glad Warner Bros greenlit such a bold and artistically free movie in the risk of triggering fans of the book.I know nothing of the original source so I’m obviously way less attached with the story, I’m just in for the ride of great attractive cast, crazy good cinematography and production design.In many ways I think films like this are not that far off from the artistic license being taken in Poor Things or Frankenstein.And in many ways, I actually prefer films that are honest with its showmanship and just want to flex how good they are.Definitely a great visual delight.Verdict: 82

romantic and heartbreaking at the same time

個人覺得電影拍不出愛情鉅著感覺，只有其框框，沒有其神髓，情愛和靈慾沒有特色，不夠細緻和吸引力。男女角外型不討好。場景和美術設計不錯。反而喜歡男女角的少年版，青澀味更惹人喜歡。周洪有種壓場的吸引力。導演手法若能更具侵略性，周洪多些表演，女角换上不得了小姐，影片可能煥然一新。

簡單西洋古裝愛情故事，帶少少古典文藝/文學 feel，編、導、演、製作都冇乜問題，但故事劇情同對白有點老套，節奏亦略嫌太慢，中段有拖嘅感覺，個人認為娛樂性唔算好高，亦冇乜特別亮點，整體一般般。入場與否視乎個人喜好吧。PS.• 愛到走火入魔都幾恐怖• 用拖戲嘅時間交代下男主角出走後如何發跡會更圓滿• 西洋古装故事，演員卻包含不同種族(起碼4個種族)，有點奇奇怪怪，要扣分• 女主角演呢個角色好似有點超齡• 兒童版同成人版男女主角個樣算係幾 match

前段故事相當動人，但轉折過後開始掉節奏+充滿窒息感。但仍不失為可歌可泣的愛情故事。4.5/5 （90分）
