After so many touching and emotional hits like Toy Story 3, Monster Inc and Up, Pixar fails to stir our heart-strings in this sequel. In Cars 1, it shows the journey of one's inner rediscovery of himself and the true values of success. Humble and a great soulful tale. In Cars 2, it shows the value of friendship and how friends stand by each other through thick and thin. However, this simple plot was diluted and over-shadowed by the layers of spy + action scenes. The emotional aspect is lacking in this show. Poor lines and over-complicated with other mini plots (example: the arrogant italian car, the old fear of being replaced, and the 2 goofy cheesy spies.) The basic story of "friendship" didn't manage to find that center stage in our minds and hearts. It was just a so-so story.Good rendition of the Pope and the Queen. Beautiful city renders - lots of details and efforts to create those city scenes. A pity Pixar didn't connect the success of the first Cars. The story behind "Friendship" is good. But it was drown in the mess of sub-plots. This failure may put the end of the Cars franchise.
